Man in Wheelchair Killed in Las Vegas Pedestrian Accident

People who walk on public roads generally understand that they are encountering some level of danger, mostly because there are times when drivers don’t see them.  However, it’s difficult to understand how a motorist would not notice someone crossing a street in a wheelchair.  Sadly, that could be what occurred yesterday when a man was killed while wheeling across a street in the latest fatal Las Vegas pedestrian accident.

According to police, the accident occurred yesterday morning just before 11 a.m. at the intersection of East Charleston Boulevard and South 11th Street.  A 70-year-old man was crossing Charleston Boulevard from south to north inside the marked crosswalk when a 42-year-old woman who was driving a Mini Cooper in the turning lane on Charleston in an eastward direction slammed into him.  The man was rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead as soon as he arrived.  No names of those involved were released pending notification of family members.
