Two Young Girls Seriously Injured, One Killed in North Las Vegas Pedestrian Accident

We teach our children at a very young age to look both ways before crossing a street and to only cross when a traffic signal says it’s permissible to do so.  The reasons behind these lessons are obvious, but unfortunately that does not mean that even the most well-trained children can anticipate or avoid mistakes made by drivers.  Tragically, early indications are that this is what occurred on Friday when three little girls were hit in a North Las Vegas pedestrian accident.  Two of them were seriously injured and one of them has died.

According to the authorities, this North Las Vegas pedestrian accident occurred on Friday when the three girls were crossing in a crosswalk on Camino Eldorado near Tropical Parkway.  As they did so, they were hit by a 78-year-old driver of a sedan who apparently failed to stop at the crosswalk to allow the girls to pass.  All three girls were rushed to a nearby hospital, but one has passed away, one has since been released and one remains in critical condition.

84 Nevada Motorcycle Accidents Occur During 5-Day Street Vibrations Event

When motorcyclists get together for any reason, it gives rise to dangers on the roads simply because of the high number of vehicles that are compressed into areas that are sometimes too small to accommodate all of them at one time.  Some feel that is the case with the 5-day Street Vibrations event that recently took place in Northern Nevada.  While there were thankfully no fatalities, there were at least 84 Nevada motorcycle accidents that occurred.

According to the authorities, these 84 Nevada motorcycle accidents occurred between last Wednesday morning, September 21 and Sunday, September 25.  Of those crashes, at least 35 led to at least one injury and another 49 involved only property damage.  There were also 16 motorists arrested on suspicion of Nevada DUI and at least seven other arrests made pursuant to either felony or misdemeanor warrants.  All in all, authorities were relatively satisfied with the fact that no one was killed and that the event in general was peaceful.

When someone is injured while riding a motorcycle or by someone who is driving a motorcycle, it could give rise to the possibility that the injured person will file a Nevada personal injury lawsuit.  When these lawsuits are filed and they return a favorable result for the plaintiff, it’s possible that said plaintiff could recover damages that compensate for medical costs, lost income and pain and suffering among other forms of loss.

Specifically, the NTSB has been reviewing photo and video evidence relating to this horrific Reno plane crash, and the agency believes that it may have identified a part falling off of the plane that ultimately plummeted into a grandstand area.  The accident killed 11 people and injured 74 others, with at least 66 of those injuries being considered serious.  Clearly, the investigation is far from complete, but every piece of evidence that’s uncovered at this point could prove to be invaluable.
